April 5, 2008 Re/Max Sourdough Stampede
1st Sat.in April.  (1 mile fun run & 5K events).  Register and finish is a the VFW Lodge. Annual KRC Fundraiser. Pancake breakfast served at VFW after the race.  Start and finish at VFW Hall, 3113 Tongass Avenue.
Registration starts at 7:45AM. One mile starts at 8:30 AM and 5K starts after one mile finishes.
Race Fee: Individuals $10 and Families $25. Kids run for free!

April 11-12, 2008High School Track meet is the 2nd Annnual KayHigh Invitational Track Meet at Fawn Mountain Track. Coach Maynard will need timers and marshalls for track infractions. Running events go from 2pm to 6pm (approximate) on Friday and 10am-2pm on Sat. Please help if you can, even for a short while. May 10, 2008Totem to Totem Half Marathon (13.1 Mile)
Sponsored by KRC. Start at Totem Bight State Park and finish at Rotary Beach (Bugge Beach).  Race Fee: $30.  Registration supports American Diabetes Association.
Registration race day begins at 7:45 AM. Start time is 9 AM for runners. Walkers may not start before 8 AM. Runners under 12 years are not allowed to run solo but can participate as a team.  There will still be some great  food, great prizes, and it is for a great  cause!

MAY 17th, 2008,Annual Alaska Law Enforcement Torch Run & Pledge Drive to benefit Special Olympics of Alaska: This is a 5K family fun run/walk. Each year, law enforcement officers from communities all over AK join people from all walks of life in what has become one of the most successful fund-raising events ever - for Special Olympics of Alaska.
The run will be at the Plaza Mall at 10:00am. Registration at 9:30am.

June 28, 2008Fools Run at Midnight  Southeast Alaska Independent Living's Only Fools Run at Midnight (1 mile walk or 5K fun run).
This is an annual fundraiser for SAIL and is cosponsored by KRC. Wear a costume to compete for prizes! Early registration is available on-line (www.sailinc.org) or at the SAIL office (602 Dock Street Suite 107).  Race fee includes t-shirt for the first 100 runners.  Collect $100 or more in the optional pledge drive competition for free registration and a chance to win great prizes!
Race day registration: 10:30 PM-11:45 PM at the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center. The Race starts and ends at the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center.
Start Time: 11:59 PM.  5K course is along Water Street.  1 mile course is along the docks.

What is the Settlers cove dash and splash?  Its Ketchikans only swim/run biathlon combining a 1000 meter ocean swim in settlers cove with a 10 k run along north Tongass Hwy and lunch creek trail.

Oct. 21, 2006             The First Annual Resort Umbrella Walk
The WELL committee in the school district is holding a walk/run on Saturday, October 21.
Registration 8 am at Settler's Cove
The event will go from Settler's Cove to Point Higgins School
The event cost is DONATION.
The first 30 to register will receive a Long Sleeved T-Shirt. All entrants will be entered in drawings at the end of the event.
ALL proceeds will go to the First City Council on Cancer to support
Cancer Awareness in Ketchikan.
